For users who have registered their Datafile system with the HMRC Making Tax Digital scheme you can verify a customer / supplier VAT Registration Number against HMRC Records.

When adding or updating a Customer or Supplier appount,  pressing the <F11> option key against the VAT registration number will display the details held for that company by the HMRC.
